So basically Rust - Staging Branch is practically an experimental/test server for Rust?

The staging bench is how it sounds, its where game devs test there updates and we the people give feedback. Rust is the version you want to play unless you want to try out new item before release.

Essentially, for anyone who plays league of legends, this sounds like the PBE equivalent, separate servers with upcoming updates to be tested before being moved to the live servers.

does that mean you can play servers u normally can on staging branch?

If RUST Staging Branch is where future updates can be tried and tested for bugs prior to inclusion into normal RUST Servers, why do we still start from square one and have killing and raiding. I assumed it would just be for trials and testing where players would work with one another exchanging views and problems. I logged on for first time and was killed in first few minutes. I am an Admin/Owner of my own Server and expected to gain advanced knowledge of updates to enable me to help my players. If killing and Raiding is allowed I see no point in using it. I need to be able to try to achieve my aim without the worry of PVP and Raiding. Both Servers were full of Russian PVP players, there are thousands of Servers for PVP, play there. Until this becomes a TEST/TRIAL server, I will no longer bother. Admin Sparker - OldMan-Clan
